From the ELA Curriculum Team

It’s hard to believe it’s June! As we prepare for summer break we have been working to create materials to send home with students to promote summer reading, stressing the importance of reading, no matter the book! Thank you to those who gave feedback on the recommended authors and gave ideas for tips and series!

We have created brochures for the following grade bands:

  • K-2 - for current PreK through grade 1 students
  • 3-5 - for current grade 2-4 students
  • 6-8 - for current grades 5-7 students

The electronic versions can be found in this google folder (translated versions are being worked on and will be added as soon as they are ready). All brochures are being added to our summer reading page on the EPS website:

In these brochures, we promote the Everett Public Libraries, including a link to a folder with many resources our school and local librarians have created. We also have a video posted that details the resources and services offered by the Everett Public Libraries.

In addition, Mary Puleo has books to give away for students to use for summer reading and will be sending those who requested via the feedback form. If you are interested in learning more, please email Mary.

Thank You for your support in promoting reading this summer!
