PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CATALOG 2022-2023
Staff are now able to explore our expansive 2022-2023 Professional Development Catalog. You can access the catalog by logging into your TeachPoint account and then clicking on the graduation cap icon on the left-hand side of the homepage. A big thank you to the volunteer members of our PD Committee who gave their time and energy to developing the district’s 2022-2023 catalog.
Reminder: The earliest start date for professional development for the 2022-2023 school year is July 1, 2022.

TOUCHVIEW TRAINING
The EPS is offering a two-hour workshop for teachers to become familiar with the TouchView SmartBoard and its features and tools. The district is planning to outfit nearly all of our classrooms with SmartBoards. Educators who participate in this training will learn how to operate the smart screens and employ all instructional programs, features, and presentation tools built into the system. Participants will be called upon to provide instructional demonstration support for their school buildings during full-day professional development days,

CTE ACCESSIBILITY CURRICULUM TEAM
On this team, CTE and EL teachers will work alongside school leaders and coaches to revise the current CTE curriculum maps to include equitable and culturally responsive practices in order to strengthen the learning experience for English Learners. Participants will also build cultural competency and accessibility strategies through professional development and collaboration.

We are bringing back summer reading! To help students and families, we are preparing double-sided pamphlets for K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 students. And we need your feedback and thoughts on content and suggestions on authors and series. Thank you in advance for your feedback and support in encouraging our students to read this summer!

LIBRARY TOURS
Any EPS K-5 teachers interested in tours at the Parlin Memorial Library, please email Children’s Librarian, Ashley Kempkes at [email protected] to set up a date and time. This is a great way to get students to understand what the library has to offer, as well as get them familiar with the space. During the tour, Ashley will teach students about our physical materials and online offerings, how to get a library card, and how to check out materials. Additionally, students will learn about upcoming summer programs. Ashley can also adapt this program to a Zoom format. Book your visit today!

DEVENS SCHOOL SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
The Everett Public Schools is seeking enthusiastic and qualified Special Education staff to lead the in-person Summer Session Program at the Devens School. This program aims to provide social/emotional and academic support to promote and maintain academic skill and social emotional development according to the goals and benchmarks of each students’ Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Crisis Management Plans (ICMP).

INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIPThe district is accepting applications for the 2022 Everett Educator Professional Development Innovation Scholarship. The scholarship, for up to $5,000, is designed to fund the creativity, growth mindset and exploration of teachers who seek a dynamic training experience that will impact his/her instruction and student outcomes.

TEACHER MENTORS
The EPS is seeking Teaching Mentors for the 2022-2023 school year. Mentors will be responsible for coaching and supporting EPS teachers who are pursuing professional teacher status.

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
PATHWAY TO ESL LICENSURE
The EPS is pleased to continue its partnership with Bridgewater State University to offer educators the chance to earn a graduate certificate in ESL. The EPS has negotiated a greatly reduced cost for our teachers, which the district is further subsidizing by 50%. The 12-credit program is 100% online and it includes an MTEL prep class and an MTEL voucher. Click HERE for complete details.
