A UNIVERSAL SUCCESS!

Hundreds of families attended this year’s EL Family Night, a mix of fun, food, music, and helpful information for families about our robust Department of English Learners. A tip of the hat to the Maintenance Department for setting up the outdoor space at the Parlin School and to EL Director Brittany Hay and all faculty and staff who organized and staffed the event.

Clockwise from the top: from left: EPS teachers Katie Kukova (Lafayette), Melissa Browne (Webster), Chris Coughlin (EHS), and EPS K-8 STEM Director Rupi Kaur; Maintenance Director Steve Bond, Parlin School Principal Dennis Lynch, and Assistant Principal James Murphy; and Everett High School (EHS) Re-Engagement Specialist Sara Paiva and EHS EL Department Head Chelsea McNiff skilfully handle the popcorn maker.

THE EPS COMMUNITY
BRANDON CONDE 5K WALK AND RUN

The first-ever Brandon Conde 5K road race and walk is set for Sunday, October 24 at 10 a.m. at Glendale Park. Brandon is a lifelong Everett resident, a product of the EPS, and a former Crimson Tide football player. He suffered a life-altering injury in July of 2019 that has left him a tetraplegic. All race proceeds will benefit Brandon and his continued recovery efforts. The registration fee is $35 for adults, $10 for students.

Register quickly and easily via RaceWire.

And don’t forget to Wear Red for Brandon on Friday, October 22nd. For the last two years, members of the EPS community have been energetic participants in this event and we want to continue the tradition on the 22nd as we do everything we can to show our support for Brandon
