OPPORTUNITIES FOR EPS STAFF

A CIVIC DUTY

The EPS is forming an iCivics Team to complete the curriculum guide for the district’s Civics curriculum. Members will participate in civics professional development, align curriculum with Civics Standards and objectives, and create language objectives for all units, summative projects, and writing assignments. In addition, the team will collect uniform and dynamic teacher resources. The team will prioritize a curriculum guide that makes critical thinking through the content of Civics accessible to all learners.

LEADING THE WAY

Everett Public Schools is exploring partnerships with Institutions of Higher Education to provide subsidized program options for our staff interested in becoming educational leaders.  In order to pursue the highest leverage programs for our staff, we are seeking your input.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM INTEREST SURVEY

Please note the Performance Assessment for Leaders (PAL) is a requirement to obtain a Principal/Assistant Principal Licensure; however, we encourage those interested in other licenses (such as Director) to also consider completing the PAL training due to its practical value for anyone interested in any aspect of school and district leadership.

SCHOOL CULTURE WORKSHOP

LearnLaunch and DESE are offering a 90-minute virtual workshop entitled Strategies to Create Positive School Culture.  The free workshop is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, and it will provide school leaders with strategies to strengthen their school community’s positive culture. This highly interactive workshop offers specific “look-fors,” as well as concrete, trauma-informed strategies that leaders can put into practice to ensure students feel safe, both emotionally and physically; seen, by adults and by their peers; and soothed, meaning at ease and without heightened anxiety, while at school. Register at the link above and find all of LearnLaunch’s upcoming workshops HERE.
