The Lenny Piazza Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 in memory of Lenny Piazza, grandfather of EPS employee Eric Piazza. Lenny, who passed away on October 18, 2008, spent the first 26 years of his working life in public school education. Starting as a physical education teacher in Nahant Public Schools, he was promoted to principal of Nahant Jr. High School and eventually became Superintendent of Schools. Upon retiring from the Nahant Public School System, Lenny began his career serving the people of Everett at Everett City Hall as the aid to the Mayor and eventually spent a number of years on Beacon Hill serving as a Legislative Aid to Everett State Representative Edward Connolly. In his roles in education, local and state government, Lenny was best characterized by his integrity, values, and his dedication to the public and the people around him. The charity golf tournament has provided $40,000 in scholarships to EHS students over the past 15 years. This year the tournament will take place on Monday August 21, 2023 at Trull Brook Golf Course in Tewksbury. Hole sponsorships, raffle prizes and other donations are also welcome! Email Eric Piazza for more information.
