THIS WEEK: JEANS DAY FUNDRAISER: MARCH 24
The Everett Public Schools will hold a Jeans Day fundraiser on Friday, March 24th to benefit Doctors Without Borders, which is doing critical work to help the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. This idea was brought to us by student members of the Multicultural Everett Citizens Club and the campaign is called “SAID SAIDA”, which is Arabic for "Help Happy".
Please make your $5 contribution to your building’s Administrative Assistant, and all final donations should be forwarded to the Lafayette School.

EQUITY THROUGH EARLY LITERACY WEBINAR SERIES
Please join DESE for Equity through Early Literacy, a series of webinars. Literacy scholars, researchers, and advocates will discuss the role of early literacy instruction in disrupting historically inequitable student outcomes, the intersection of early literacy instruction and culturally and linguistically sustaining practices, and the importance of preparing and supporting educators in accordance with these practices. Click on the title of each webinar to learn more and/or register. All three sessions begin at 3:00 p.m.SEEKING FEEDBACK ON POTENTIAL SUMMER INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
Based on feedback received from schools and districts, DESE is considering sponsoring a multi-day instructional leadership institute this summer. The tentative thinking is that this institute could help teams (including district leaders, school leaders, and teacher leaders):- Deepen their understanding of how to implement high-quality instructional materials at the rigor of the standards, and/or
- Build the necessary routines and rituals to effectively support high-quality instruction and drive professional learning.
This will improve our ability to host conference calls with families with a recognizable school phone number, ensuring that all classrooms and school spaces have a new phone that traces their physical location to enhance 911 safety measures as well as preserving additional functionalities for future use.
We are sure that the upgraded communication system will completely transform the way you communicate today!
Please note that we are working diligently with our providers to ensure that the Cutover Day is seamless; however, once the system is fully transitioned, old voicemails cannot be carried over. Please begin to review your voicemail and take note of any important voicemail messages.
We will provide additional communication regarding updates and the scheduled migration date for your school, but please contact your school leader in the meantime.
