Veterans Day Celebrations

Thanks to everyone throughout the district who organized Veterans Day
celebrations and events last week. This photo was taken after a fantastic concert at the
Lafayette School led by music teachers Anna Polska and Journn and Maciej

JEANS DAY FUNDRAISER

November 18th

The EPS will hold a Jeans Day Fundraiser on Friday, November 18th for a Keverian and EHS family (grades 5, 7, and 9) that would greatly benefit from the generosity of our teachers and staff. Please make your $5 donation to your building’s Administrative Assistant, and all final collections should be forwarded to Keverian School Principal Alex Naumann.

CURRICULUM TEAM: GRADES 3-5
The EPS is forming a Curriculum Team to help select Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum, scope and sequence, and implementation framework for the 2023-2024 school year. We are  seeking master teachers and educators in Grades 3, 4, and 5 who have demonstrated interest in Social and Emotional Learning, and who are experts in analyzing formative assessment data including, but not limited to, DIBELs, ACCESS for ELs, MCAS and i-Ready.

2-MINUTE ARPA SURVEY

The City of Everett is utilizing “The Balancing Act” as a community engagement and impact tool to help assess where the community believes the greatest needs and opportunities for investment of ARPA funds. This tool allows community members to identify, weigh, and rank their individual top five priority areas. Please use the link below to give your feedback about how to best use this significant funding. It is available in English, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Haitian Creole.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STAFF

LETTERS ABOUT LITERATURE MASSACHUSETTS WRITING INITIATIVE 

The Massachusetts Center for the Book is offering an exciting opportunity for ELA teachers in grades 4-12.  The Letters About Literature program invites students in Grades 4 through 12 to read a book of their choice, reflect on it, and write a personal letter to its author, explaining the impact this work had on them.  One Top Honor writer and four to nine additional Honors writers are named in each level (grades 4-6, 7-8, 9-12). Winners are invited to an awards celebration at the State House. Submissions will be accepted until January 12, 2023. Additional information and resources can be found HERE.
 
DEI CERTIFICATE PROGRAM 
M.A.S.S. and IDEAS have launched a new Certificate Program in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) and Anti-Racism. The 120-hour program, provided in conjunction with Framingham State University, is open to all teachers, administrators, and other PK-12 educators.Applications for the program are accepted on a rolling basis.
