Superintendent William Hart enjoyed Coffee and a Chat with Madeline English School teachers and staff on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Thanks to the school’s leadership team and the Everett Teachers Association (ETA), for making the event such a big success.

At the Lafayette School

Sock Drive a Major Success
Congratulations to the Lafayette School Student Council for holding a tremendously successful Sock Drive in the weeks leading up the Winter Break. The Lafayette community collected 3,300 pairs of new socks to give to students and families. Thanks to Heather Murin, one of the Lafayette’s Student Council advisors, for sharing this photo with us.

Professional Development Opportunities
Pear Deck and Canva
Two Everett Public Schools (EPS) teachers are offering in-person professional development (PD) for EPS educators who are interested in learning more about Pear Deck and Canva.  Keverian School teacher Jackie Fallon's Pear Deck workshops are slated for March 13, 2024 (for PreK-5) and March 27, 2024 (6-12), from 3:15 to 5:15 p.m. Madeline English School teacher Jennifer Cavalieri’s will lead two separate Canva sessions in March and April. Teachers can complete the sessions for PD hours or a stipend.

Jeans Day: Friday, February 16, 2024
To Benefit the MGH and Keverian Teacher Jillian Levine
Keverian School physical education teacher Jillian Levine is running the 128th Boston Marathon to support the MGH Division of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology. To help Ms. Levine, the Everett Public Schools (EPS) is holding a district-wide Jeans Day Fundraiser on Friday, February 16, 2024. Please make your $5 donation to your building’s administrative assistant, and all final collections should be forwarded to the Keverian School.

A Field Trip for Educators
Ms. Whitson and Ms. Lomas visit the Cataldo CEC
Everett Public Schools Health and Wellness Coordinator Julie Ann Whitson and Everett High School (EHS) Lead Health Science Pathway teacher Sue Lomas had the pleasure of touring Cataldo Ambulance’s new Education Center in Woburn. Thanks to Cataldo Director of Education Scott Meager, who is pictured below with Ms. Lomas, for organizing the site visit. The EMTs pictured above teach the EMT certification class offered to EHS Health Science Pathway students.
