In order to receive your longevity pay, EPS teachers must complete and submit the Request for Longevity Pay form from the district's website by October 1st.  Longevity Pay for Teachers will be processed on December 6, 2023.

Before School Bonding Through Boxing Site Coordinator

Before school programming is an opportunity for students to connect to peers and teachers, receive specialized support, eat breakfast, build community and get ready to participate in an academic school day. The Bonding through Boxing program will provide up to 15 students in grades 3-5 with before school programming that will include physical activity (boxing), community building, and personal development. Programming will happen at the Whittier and Parlin schools on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  The EPS site coordinator will be responsible for attendance, tracking Aspen data of student participants, communicating with families, supporting with recruitment and retention, and dismissal of students to their school day teachers.

Before School Lead Teachers
The Before School program will provide up to 45 students in grades K-8 with before school programming that will include physical activity, community building, and personal development. We are seeking Lead Teachers to facilitate this program from 6:45-7:45 a.m. at several schools this year.

Everett Alternative High School Opportunities

Adjunct Social Worker/Clinician
The Everett Alternative High School is hiring a Social Worker/Clinician to support re-engaged students and staff 2-3 times per week.
Duties Include:

  • Provides assessment and evaluation to identify student, family and school needs that impact learning
  • Provides prevention and intervention services to all students referred
  • Provides counseling services to address targeted issues impacting school success
  • Participates in school based wellness meetings to identify and address potential barriers that impacting attendance
  • Assists the safety of students by providing crisis intervention and triage support
  • Promotes consultation and collaboration with school, family and community providers to support all students
  • Advocates for appropriate family support services and family engagement resources
  • Supports SEL initiatives 
  • Participates in professional development activities to strengthen clinical best practices
  • Maintains accountability and confidentiality in communication and documentation
  • Utilizes a holistic, whole-child approach in working with students and families


Adjunct Special Education Teacher

The Everett Alternative High School is hiring a Special Education teacher to support re-engaged students and staff 2-3 times per week.

Duties Include:

  • Plan and facilitate lessons for Math and ELA/ESL for in-person learning, remote instruction, and any hybrid model applicable to the 23-24 school year aligned with State Standards. 
  • Monitor student progress and performance on online coursework. 
  • Use all available technology and virtual curricula the district provides to create engaging lessons linked with 21st-century skills and remote accessibility. 
  • Manage classroom behavior with Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies that motivate students and limit disruptions. 
  • Utilize inclusive practices and SEI strategies for students on IEPs and English Learners. 
  • Communicate with student families regularly using culturally responsive strategies that promote two-way conversations. 
  • Employ a strong growth mindset and participate in professional development that is relevant to the challenges of urban education to close opportunity gaps. 
  • Collaborate with the Guidance Counselor to refer students who require social-emotional support. 
  • Collaborate with Special Education leadership and teacher colleagues to review IEPs and ensure all accommodations are adequately and consistently delivered.

Professional Development Opportunity


The 5D is seeking presenters for its annual Shared November PD Day on Tuesday, November 7th — Election Day. The theme of this year’s event is Taking Action for Equity: Building Relationships and Teaching with Rigor. 

As always, organizers are seeking educators to lead presentations that align to this year’s theme. To submit a session proposal, please complete this form by the end of the day on Thursday,  September 21st.  Additional Information about the schedule for the day, session catalog, and registration will be shared via email and through the PD Day website in early October.
