EHS Holds Signing Day Event for Senior Football Players
The Everett High School (EHS) Athletic Department hosted a Signing Day event for four standout football players and members of the Class of 2024. The festivities were held inside the Crimson Cafe on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 — the day senior high school football players historically make their college decision.

Offensive lineman Carlos Cornejo, defensive lineman Shane MacKenzie, kicker Adoni Santos, and wide receiver/safety Christian Zamor were joined by family, teammates, EHS administrators, and Superintendent William Hart as they put pen to paper. Cornejo is headed to Framingham State, MacKenzie is going to AIC, Santos is bound for Franklin Pierce, and Zamor will suit up for the Bentley Falcons.

“My congratulations to these four outstanding student athletes and their families for earning the chance to play football at the collegiate level,” said Superintendent William Hart. “They are a part of the history and fabric of our storied program and a credit to our high school and our city.

“You guys are the steppingstones to getting this program back to where it belongs,” head coach Justin Flores said to the players before they were called to the podium to make individual remarks.

In addition, Josh DelGaizo and the EHS-TV Studio produced and played highlight videos of all four players during their years as Crimson Tide players.

Thanks to Principals and Teachers
The five new members of the Everett School Committee visited four schools last week, giving them the chance to meet building leaders and educators and see the great work that is being done throughout the district every day.

Robin Babcock, Margaret Cornelio, Joseph D’Onofrio, Joanna Garren, and Samantha Hurley toured the Adams School (Pre-Kindergarten), Lafayette School (K-8), Webster School (K-5), and Everett High School (EHS) on Friday, February 9, 2024. Superintendent William Hart accompanied the members on the tours, which were led by principals.

Thanks to Adams School Head Teacher Laurie Stokes, Lafayette Principal Dave Brady, Webster Principal Chris Barrett, and EHS Principal Dennis Lynch for leading the tours and engaging the School Committee members in engaging discussions. And thanks to the many teachers who opened their classroom doors.

The day concluded at EHS, where the School Committee members were treated to lunch made by the Culinary Arts Department.
