World Autism Awareness Day
Webster School teachers and staff celebrated our neurodiversity in recognition of World Autism Acceptance Day (WAAD) on Tuesday, April 2, 2025. The United Nations General Assembly established the WAAD designation in 2007, and in the intervening years the day has expanded beyond raising awareness to actively promoting acceptance, appreciation, and inclusion, recognizing the contributions autistic people make to their communities and the world at large.

Massachusetts Revolutionaries: Bold Stories, Bright Legacies
This year marks the 250th Anniversary of our nation’s founding, and Massachusetts, birthplace of the American Revolution, will celebrate with various activities and events throughout the year.
As part of the Massachusetts 250 initiative, all K-12 public school students are invited to submit their creative work to tell the story of the most important revolutionary in Massachusetts history. Any student or group wishing to participate should use their talents and research to create a project about their chosen revolutionary. The project can be a visual art piece, an essay, a documentary, a performance, or any other creative format. All submissions are due by June 30th.
In the fall, winning entries will be notified and invited to a MA 250 celebration at a Massachusetts historical site to share and celebrate their work! To learn more, please visit the MA 250 site. Please check out this list for inspiration on Massachusetts revolutionary figures and sources.
Please contact K-8 Social Studies Coordinator Marena MacLaughlin or EHS Social Studies Department Head. John Flannery for more information.
