A Message from the Superintendent
A.L.I.C.E. Training in November
A.L.I.C.E. Training in November
As part of our ongoing efforts to emphasize safety, training, and preparedness, the Everett Public Schools Department Office of Safety and Security, in conjunction with EPS School Resource Officers, will offer A.L.I.C.E. trainings in all 10 EPS schools. The fall trainings will be held in November.
We will share more details in the coming weeks, including an informational video from Detective and School Resource Officer Stephen J. Ramunno and EPS Social Emotional Learning Supervisor Amanda Benitez. In the meantime, please mark the date of the training at your respective school. The mandatory training is for ALL district personnel, including custodians and Whitsons employees. We have designed this year’s sessions to build on what we covered last year and to account for some of the feedback we received from you on how to improve the training.
Thank you to Deputy Superintendent Gretchen Manning, Director of Safety and Security Lauren O’Connor, EPD Chief Paul Strong, and our Student Resource Officers for helping us improve and expand our training efforts. I would also like to extend my appreciation to the Everett Teachers Association for supporting this critical safety initiative.

A Monster Assignment
Is there any doubt that Whittier School teachers Will Norris, Caitlin Shannon, and Ainsley Towers are excited about teaching a section on “Frankenstein” to their Grade 8 students? Thanks to Principal Mike McLucas for sharing these photos with us and to our teachers for bringing creativity and energy to our classrooms.
Brandon Conde Day
The City of Everett is asking us to wear red as part of the annual Brandon Conde Day, which is set for Friday, October 24, 2025. The EPS has always been a spirited participant in this event, and we hope this year is no different. Wear red on the 24th and share your photos with Franci DaLuz so we can share them on our social media channels.
Brandon is a lifelong Everett resident who is a tetraplegic because of injuries he suffered during a horrific accident in July of 2019. He attended the Parlin School, and he graduated from Everett High and Bridgewater State.
