EPS Faculty Supporting Our Families
Thanks to the Lafayette School Grade 6 Team for hosting a special event for parents and guardians on Thursday, May 22, 2025. With the support of school leadership, the teachers gathered materials, lessons, and resources to give to families to support math learning across the K-8 level. The event proved very successful with students, families, and faculty. Professional Development Opportunity
Everett Public Schools (EPS) faculty who are interested in delivering professional development (PD) to their colleagues are encouraged to apply to have your course included in the 2025-26 PD Catalog. Teachers can apply as individuals or in teams of two to deliver courses.

Topics that will be considered include, but are not limited to:
Supporting Diverse Learners
English Learners
Students on IEPs
Struggling Readers

Tuition Reimbursement
If you are an Everett Public Schools (EPS) faculty or staff member who identifies as BIPOC, you are eligible to apply for tuition reimbursement through the district’s participation in the Massachusetts DESE Teacher Diversification Fund.

Click HERE to apply. The deadline is Thursday, May 29, 2025. Grant recipients will be notified by Director of Instruction Anne Auger. Exact reimbursement amounts are determined by the number of eligible candidates and funding available for the current fiscal year.

CURATE Panelists Sought
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking teachers from diverse backgrounds and experiences to serve as panelists on the CUrriculum RAtings by TEachers (CURATE) project during the 2025-26 school year.  

Anticipated panels include:
English Language Arts/Literacy K-5
History/Social Science 9-12
Mathematics K-5, 6-8, 9-12Science 9-12

Classroom teachers who are passionate about the curriculum and its potential for improving instruction and concerned with issues of equity, accessibility, and inclusion are encouraged to apply. CURATE panelists are paid a stipend up to $2,000 and receive up to 30 professional development points (PDPs) for their service. Applications for the fall 2025 semester close on Friday, May 30. Loan Repayment Opportunity for Educators
The state Department of Higher Education (DHE) Office of Student Financial Assistance is accepting applications for loan repayment funds. The application is open until Sunday, June 15. The program is available to teachers and educators currently employed by a public school (including charter schools) in Massachusetts who completed their undergraduate degree after January 2020.  

Courses on Inclusive Practice, Earn PDPs or Graduate Credit DESE sponsors two Foundations for Inclusive Practice courses: one for Educators and one for Administrators.  These engaging, self-paced online courses offer interactive activities, videos, readings, and other resources for professional learning.  You can earn 15 PDPs in "effective schooling for students with disabilities and instruction of students with diverse learning styles," which are required for renewing a professional license. It’s free to take the course for PDPs, and you can start anytime. You also have the option to enroll for one graduate credit for a cost of $250.  Registration for Summer Semester graduate credit is due June 20, 2025.

Literacy Launch Institutes: Register Today
Are you an educator supporting students in grades PreK-3? Do you want to deepen your understanding of evidence-based and culturally and linguistically sustaining early literacy practices? 

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), in collaboration with HILL for Literacy, are thrilled to announce the Literacy Launch Institutes! These Institutes offer FREE professional learning to deepen understanding of evidence-based, culturally and linguistically sustaining early literacy practices.   

Register HERE. With differentiated tracks available (Novice, Advanced, Preschool, School & District Leaders, and Educator Prep Program Faculty & Staff), there’s a learning path to meet the needs of each educator across the Commonwealth. Register now for the inaugural 4-Day Literacy Launch Institutes this summer and be ready for liftoff when the new school year begins!  

What to Know about Literacy Launch Institutes:
  • Open to any public-school educator who supports early literacy, as well as MA education prep faculty and staff
  • Offered in two locations this August (Devens and Foxboro)
  • Individual educators and teams are encouraged to register; school or district teams that attend the Institute together will be eligible to apply for free coaching at your school from HILL for Literacy
  • Participants are eligible to receive PDPs and a stipend; optional graduate credit available Differentiated to meet the unique needs of educators in different roles
