USDA Nondiscrimination Statement

The Everett Public Schools will be participating in the USDA’s Child Nutrition Programs National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for the 22-23 School Year. As part of this program, the Everett Public Schools offer healthy meals every school day at NO COST to the students due to the implementation of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for school year 2024-2025. Students will be able to participate in these meals programs without having to pay a fee or submit a household application.

Nondiscrimination Statement:

In accordance with federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.

Program information may be made available in languages other than English. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication to obtain program information (e.g., Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language), should contact the responsible state or local agency that administers the program or USDA’s TARGET Center at (202) 720-2600 (voice and TTY) or contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation.

Public Release Statement

The Everett Public School District is committed to serving fresh, healthy foods for breakfast and lunch and is available at no charge to all student PreK-12.

This daily allowance for all students will ensure that all students are ready to learn. We are proud to provide these meals to support our families.

Meal Charge Procedures

The Everett Public Schools Food Service Department takes pride in preparing and serving nutritious meals to all students. As such, the following meal and collection guidelines have been developed for all students in order for the lunch program to continue operating in a fiscally responsible manner.

Each day all students are allowed one reimbursable meal at no charge. Students will not be allowed to charge second meals, desserts, snacks, milk or any other a la carte items if they do not have a positive balance.

Meal Modification Request Information

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) nondiscrimination regulation (7 CFR 15b), as well as the regulations governing the Child Nutrition Programs, make it clear that substitutions to the regular meal must be made, at no extra cost, for children who are unable to eat meals served in any Child Nutrition Programs (CNP) because of their disabilities.

Parents/Guardians who need to make a meal modification for their child’s school meals while in school need to fill out a Lexington Public Schools Meal Modification Form.
