Every Voice, Every Story, Every Day!
Weekly Message from the Superintendent

My thanks to Manager of Extended Learning Danielle Durham and the teachers and counselors who planned and staffed this week’s Acceleration Academies. We registered 630 K-6 students at the Keverian, Lafayette, Madeline English, and Parlin schools, and another 250 students were enrolled in Everett High’s Academy. Forty-six teachers and three Everett High interns worked in our elementary buildings, while the EHS team consisted of 13 teachers and three college and career counselors.

We fund the academies through Title I. EPS teachers delivered engaging, standards-aligned lessons that provided targeted academic support, ESL services, and enrichment opportunities that allowed students to stay active and engaged throughout the day. Through collaborative efforts, students were able to deepen their understanding of content, build confidence in their abilities, and enjoy a productive and fun vacation week.

At Everett High, we expanded the Academy to include spots for students in grades 9–12, providing targeted small-group instruction in English Language Arts and Mathematics.

We look forward to running our third and final Academies of the school year this summer.

Enjoy the weekend and I look forward to our return to school on Monday!

William D. Hart

A Great Perk from Northeastern University
Northeastern University is offering EPS staff a priority application review code—NULOR—to share with colleagues, friends, and others in their network who may be interested in graduate study. This code automatically waives the application fee (if applicable) and provides priority review.

With more than 200 experience-powered programs to choose from—including master’s degrees, graduate certificates, professional doctorates, and PhDs—there are a wide range of options for prospective students.
