Inside Our Classrooms: Partner Reading
Thanks to Whittier School Principal Mike McLucas for sharing these photographs, which shows how young students are embracing the partner reading strategy. This allows students to work collaboratively in pairs to read a text aloud, exchange turns, and offer feedback to each other. It promotes reading fluency and comprehension.

Civics Action Showcase
The Keverian School held its 2nd Annual Civics Action Project Showcase on Friday, May 23, 2025, the culmination of a year-long Grade 8 Civics project led by Grade 8 social studies teacher Maggie Moran.
Students worked in groups to identify and address an issue or concern that they believe calls for civic action. Topics included youth substance abuse, food insecurity, overcrowding in schools, pollution, girls sports, and infrastructure improvements. Students conducted research, designed surveys, interviewed members of the Everett Public Schools (EPS) and Everett community, and created action plans.
During the showcase, students presented slideshows to a panel of judges, members of the community members, and their families and classmates. The event concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing the top three projects as well as the projects that the judges chose for Best Presentation, Best Data Analysis, and Best Action Plan. Congratulations to the award winners and participating students.
