STEM Innovation Pathway Hosts Career Panel
The Everett High School STEM Innovation Pathway hosted a career panel on Friday, December 13, 2024, giving students the chance to hear from industry leaders about their educational and professional experiences.
“I learned a lot about careers that I didn’t even know existed,” said Pablo, a senior Pathway student. “It helped me find some direction for my future.”
Joining the panel were:
Justin Johnson — Associate Principal Scientist at Alkermes Inc.
Evan O’Brien — Senior R&D Engineer at Cardinal Health)
Bassim Ibrahim — Engineering Manager at BAE Systems
Reinier Moquete — Founder and CEO at Cyber Warrior
Marianne Lindahl-Allen — Co-founder of Leas Labs
The event consisted of a formal student-generated question-and-answer session, and more informal small-group discussions. Students connected with potential mentors in various fields, obtained invaluable life and career advice, and were inspired to achieve success within the STEM fields.
“They gave us real, raw information without sugar coating it so we can prepare for our futures,” said Kelly, an EHS senior. Another member of the Class of ‘25, Lillian, agreed: “It was extremely valuable because it gave us broad information about work in STEM fields from people that are currently there,” she said.
