Onward and Upward!
Congratulations to the Everett High School Crimson Tide Marching Band for its continued success in regional competitions — in addition to performing at all Everett High home and away football games!

The band’s latest triumph came on October 24, 2026, at Burlington High School, where Everett earned the day's best score (87.3). The Crimson Tide’s competition entry, “Onward and Upward,” centers on exploration and the relentless pursuit of what lies beyond the horizon. Thanks to the students for their tireless dedication, and to Band Director Gene O’Brien and EPS music faculty Brian Spencer, Carmen Falzone, Ryan Enos, Cory Crofoot, Sam Logan for their leadership.

Up next for the Marching Band: The USBands New England Championships on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Stoughton High School; and the New England Scholastic Band Association New England Marching Band Finals on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Harvard Stadium.

Getting In on the Ground Level
Working with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Grade 8 students at Madeline English School water newly planted trees on the school grounds. Ian Briggs, a certified arborist from the Greening our Gateway Cities Program, taught the students the most effective way to water the trees weekly through Thanksgiving and again in the spring. Pictured above are students Kevin Saint Fort, Zachary Obarsky, Marianna DaCosta Sorriento, and Emmy Figueroa Hercules. Thanks to science teacher Bruce Jaffe for bringing this learning opportunity to the Madeline English School.
____________
Debaters Make Their Case
Congratulations to Everett High School’s Debate en Español team for a sensational performance at the first Boston Debate League competition of the season on October 23-24, 2026, at Boston Latin Academy. Working with advisors Ruth Cardona-Suarez and Randy Boudreu, the students developed strong arguments on this year’s topic, Medicare for All.
