AUGUST 20, 2025
Dear Everett High School Community,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We are excited to partner with you to accelerate learning and support every student’s success. Last year, we saw growth across several academic areas, and we look forward to continuing this progress.
When students return, they will have opportunities to explore various sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities. We encourage all students to get involved. There is something for everyone! Starting this year, I will send weekly updates each Sunday afternoon to keep families and students informed about important events and news.|
Everett High School is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that empowers students to become lifelong learners. Using recent data, we have aligned our teaching with the district’s instructional focus: ensuring that all students, especially multilingual learners and students with disabilities, engage in rigorous literacy strategies that develop reading fluency, comprehension, and academic language skills.
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 26, 2025. It will be a half-day for students in grades 9, 10, and 11, with dismissal at 11:00 a.m. Students in grade 12 will not attend school on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. On the first day, grade 9 students will meet their homeroom teachers on the field outside the school, where teachers will have signs to help students find their homerooms. The homeroom period will be extended to help students get familiar with their schedules and the school. Students in grades 10 and 11 should go directly to their homerooms at 7:45 a.m. A schedule for the first week is included below.
We are finalizing student schedules and will notify families and students later this week once schedules are ready. A form with instructions to reset Aspen passwords (if needed) will be sent to student email accounts this week. Homeroom assignments for students in grade 9 will be sent to students’ email accounts this week. We appreciate your patience as we prepare for the new school year.
The daily 30-minute intervention period will continue. On Mondays, students will return to their homerooms for career and college exploration activities. Tuesday through Friday, students will attend academic interventions, which will be integrated into their schedules within the first few weeks. Until then, students will attend their regular academic classes during intervention periods. Weekly schedules will be shared until interventions are fully scheduled.
Paper copies of student schedules will be provided to students on their first day of school in their homeroom. The first week’s schedule and the regular rotation schedule are posted below and will be reviewed with students during the opening days. We look forward to welcoming students in grades 9–11 on Tuesday, August 26, for the half-day, and all students in grades 9–12 on Wednesday, August 27, for the first full day. Please note, there will be no school from Friday, August 29, through Tuesday, September 2. School resumes for all students on Wednesday, September 3.
School begins daily at 7:45 a.m. Students should arrive at 7:45 a.m. each morning to go to their homeroom. We are excited to begin the year, and we will share updates on policies and procedures this week.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership!
Best wishes,

Dr. Braga
