Ceremony Held at the Keverian School

The George Keverian School held the Sparkle Like Maggie Bench Dedication on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in front of the K-8 school on Nichols Street. The event celebrated the life and legacy of Margaret “Maggie” Charbonnier, a former Keverian and Everett High student whose kindness, energy, and compassion left a lasting impression on the people who knew her.

“The Buddy Benches we dedicate today are a beautiful reflection of who Maggie was,” said Keverian Principal Alex Naumann. “They represent friendship, inclusion, empathy, and the simple act of noticing when someone may need a friend.”

Maggie’s parents, relatives, friends, and former teachers attended the dedication, made possible by the tireless efforts of Lauren Capelotti, whom Mr. Naumann credited with “turning the love and memories of Maggie into something lasting.”

Maggie passed away from Addison’s Disease in April 2022 at the age of 24. The two purple benches sit outside the Nichols Street entrances to the Keverian. They have gold plaques with her name and these words by William Shakespeare: “So shines a good deed in a weary world.”
