'Celebrate A Senior' A Sensational Success

The Eliot Family Resource Center (FRC), a vital social service organization that provides essential and wide-ranging assistance to Everett residents, will have a strong presence during Everett High School's Drive-Through Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, June 6.

Using funds from their own budget and by eliciting contributions from private donors, the Eliot FRC leadership team raised enough money to purchase $25 Amazon gift cards for every senior in the Class of 2020. Eliot FRC Program Director Liliana Patino, Family Support Worker Mariana Patino, and School Liaison Director Eleanor Gayhart joined Superintendent of Schools Priya Tahiliani earlier this week to make the announcement. The gift cards will be given to seniors by FRC officials on Saturday as part of the commencement exercises at the Mystic Lots across from Encore Boston Harbor.

"I continue to be amazed by the generosity of our community partners such as the FRC, who have contributed to our Celebrate a Senior initiative in a major way," said Priya Tahiliani. "Through donations from EPS staff, city employees and officials, businesses, organizations, and individual donors, we have raised more than $40,000 for our seniors."

Last week, donors delivered $50 in gifts to seniors as part of the Celebrate a Senior project. On Saturday, an additional $60 in gift cards will be presented to seniors from the Eliot FRC, Everett Bank, and the Kiwanis and Rotary club during the Drive-Through Graduation.
