Oct. 24 is Brandon Conde Day

A Message from the Mayor

Dear Parent (Guardian),
On July 5, 2019, life-long resident, Brandon Conde, suffered a life-altering accident injuring his spinal cord. This tragic event left Brandon a tetraplegic. He has undergone several surgeries and is now in rehab struggling to adapt to this new life.

Brandon’s family anxiously awaits his ability to come home; however, his home here in Everett is not yet handicap accessible. Additionally, day to day professional healthcare and continued rehab costs will impact the family dramatically. They have set up a GoFundMe page to help offset the extreme costs that will be needed to allow Brandon come home and live comfortably.

I am asking that you consider making any size donation to this GoFundMe account.

Brandon’s ordeal has clearly shown how one split second can change the life of an individual and family forever.  Every day we take for granted that our family members and friends are safe. Brandon and his family need the support of this community. I have seen this community rally to support others who have been stricken by unforeseen tragedy and I trust that your compassion will once again influence your participation.

On October 24th, we encourage all students and residents to wear red to show support and unity to Brandon and his family.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Regards,
Carlo DeMaria
Mayor
