Advisory Council Meeting

Everett High School’s Career and Technical Education Department, under the direction of coordinator Nelia Braga, convened its Advisory Boards on Wednesday, May 8.
Professionals, elected officials, and civic leaders provide their expertise to Everett High’s CTE programs in Carpentry/Construction, Culinary Arts, Machine Technology, Marketing, Medical Assisting, and Hospitality. During the Advisory Board meetings, members meet with educators and students, talk about industry trends, inspect equipment and technology, and offer their expert advice on how to best match the curriculum to workforce demands.
Dr. Omar Easy from the City of Everett’s Department of Organizational Assessment, State Rep. Joseph McGonagle, and School Committee members Marcony Almeida Barros, Millie Cardello, David Ela, and Frank Parker were among the city officials who attended the event, which was held in the EHS Cafeteria and included dinner prepared by the Culinary Arts Department.
Braga, EHS administration, and consultants Charles Lyons and Roger Bourgeois are in the process of adding Web Development to the CTE curriculum for the start of the 2019-2020 school year.
